One Long Breath

Just enough time  
To grit my teeth 
Or release my fists 

It’s a moment 
To a breathe a baby 
Earth side 

Seconds 
To swallow 
The bile boiling up 

Air let out 
To feel the ground 
Under me 

For my heart 
To beat 
One more time
